Making food a foundational pillar of chronic care management

Company

Attane Health is an early-stage digital medicine company redefining how food is integrated into clinical care. With one in three Americans experiencing chronic conditions tied to nutrition, Attane’s mission is to make nutritious food a standard part of medical treatment. Their platform provides access to healthy food, education to drive behavior change, and robust data to measure outcomes and impact.

The company is in its late seed stage, with active customers and a product in market. As it prepares to scale, Attane is expanding from its foundation in Medicaid to new commercial markets.

“Food is a building block of good health—and we’re making it part of clinical care.”
— Emily Brown, CEO, Attane Health

Challenge

As Attane prepared to launch a commercial version of its product, it faced two critical challenges:

  • Market Expansion Expertise: Attane needed an expert in digital health commercialization to help transition from Medicaid into the commercial market. They were looking for someone with a strong grasp of product development, go-to-market (GTM) strategy, and customer acquisition.
  • Filling a Critical Role Through Flexible Expertise: Attane was looking to expand their team’s capabilities as they prepared to enter the commercial market, but they weren’t ready to bring on a full-time hire. Instead, they sought a fractional expert with deep experience in digital health product development and GTM strategy, someone who could provide high-impact support, meet regularly with their team, and guide both tactical execution and strategic planning.

“We needed someone who could guide our GTM and product strategy—not just technically, but strategically—and be someone we could meet with regularly.”

The MDisrupt Solution

Through MDisrupt, Attane engaged Melissa, a seasoned product and GTM expert with deep experience in digital health. Her role evolved from an initial review of the commercial product to broader strategic support, including marketing, positioning, and customer pull-through.

Melissa brought a dual focus: helping the team execute the technical aspects of launch while also refining the broader commercialization strategy. She introduced tools, frameworks, and connections the team hadn’t previously considered—adding significant value beyond the original scope.

“Melissa has been amazing—thoughtful, strategic, and incredibly efficient. She’s become so integral to our work that we joke she’s ‘Melissa to the third power.’”

Why It Matters

With Melissa’s support, Attane launched the initial product release with precision and confidence, setting the stage for a phased rollout that aligned with their implementation timeline. Her experience with similar digital health launches enabled the team to navigate final-stage execution efficiently and effectively.

In addition to driving the launch forward, Melissa provided valuable industry insights, particularly around how emerging health plans approach partnerships, GTM strategy, and long-term engagement.

“Melissa’s insider knowledge of how payers think about product launches has been invaluable. She’s helped us anticipate challenges and strengthen our positioning.”
